On the ocean beaches of the tropics live crabs that lay their eggs into the water. hatch from the eggs, juveniles, larvae, which float as plankton in the water. They grow by slipping out of its old shell. After this happened about five times, has developed the crab. She goes further growth to the beach.


from the Red Sea in 1987, I picked out in plankton catches such Zoea larvae and some photographed under a microscope from above with a flash. Three pictures hereunder.
